Chamber and Solo Performances
Norman performed a faculty recital nearly every year while at the University of Arizona and while at Del Mar College. He enjoyed performing chamber music with his colleagues at the Universities and with members of the CCSO and the TSO.
A live video webcast of his recital on September 21, 2009 was the first webcast from the University of Arizona School of Music. The program included Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata and Michael Torke's Concerto for Percussion, Rapture with Michael Dauphinais, Pianist.
During the Spring 2012 semester, Norm presented the Arizona Premier of the new percussion concerto, Drum Music, by John Mackey. This high-energy, three-movement work was performed with the University of Arizona Wind Ensemble on February 16th of that year.
Other faculty recitals have featured world premieres from Craig Walsh--Pointing Out Your Ruse for violin and percussion—that was featured on Mark's Albany Records release, Playing the Edge; Michael Timpson--pursuing the emerald scintillate for alto saxophone, violin, and marimba; among others.
